I have tried following the steps below to install the Analysis ToolPak onto my Excel. Click the File tab, click Options, and then click the Add-Ins category. If you're using Excel 2007, click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Excel Options. In the Manage box, select Excel Add-ins and then click Go.
The Add-in list will show up. Click the checkbox next to Analysis ToolPak. The above will enable the Analysis TookPak in Excel 2007 for you. Excel 2010 steps to enable the Analysis ToolPak. The steps for Excel 2010 are basically the same, but the windows have only a slightly different look to them (if you would notice at all). The Analysis ToolPak is an Excel 2007 add-in program that adds extra financial, statistical, and engineering functions to Excel’s pool of built-in functions. The tools included in the Analysis ToolPak enable you to analyze worksheet data by using such things as ANOVA, F-Test, rank and percentile, t-Test, and Fourier analysis.
If you're using Excel for Mac, in the file menu go to Tools Excel Add-ins. In the Add-Ins box, check the Analysis ToolPak check box, and then click OK.
If Analysis ToolPak is not listed in the Add-Ins available box, click Browse to locate it. If you are prompted that the Analysis ToolPak is not currently installed on your computer, click Yes to install it. However, when I reach the stage where I am prompted to install the Analysis ToolPak onto my computer, I click Yes and receive the following: Error 1706: Setpud cannot find the required files.
Check your connection to the network, or CD-ROM drive. I need a solution urgently as I have a deadline on the work I'm trying to complete. Thanks, Aleks Duvnjak.
Like many of Microsoft’s other Office applications are extremely powerful that have many ‘hidden’ features. I stumbled on the Analysis ToolPak when I took an quantitative analysis class for my Masters program.
Once I enabled the add-in and learned how to use the tools it provided, I have not used any other statistical tool except perhaps Minitab, but then I use that for the more complex analysis. The problem with the Excel add-in is that it is not loaded by default, this quickly became a problem for the professor teaching the class because he had to walk everyone through the process of enabling the powerful add-in. I’m posting this quick how-to for those of you that don’t know how to enable it or even know where to locate it. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them below. Note: I used Excel 2007 for this guide. While Excel is open, click the Office button (the Orb) and click on Excel Options. When the Excel Options window opens, click on Add-Ins located on the left pane.
